Norris Leads Piastri in Brazilian Practice Session
Lando Norris has outscored Oscar Piastri at all of the previous five race weekends.
The McLaren driver just pipped fellow driver and championship contender Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the final moments of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the points lead from his teammate by one point after his victory in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver during the running before sprint qualifying due at 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the points battle, trailing 36 points behind behind Norris, was classified in 17th position as his Red Bull team opted for a unique setup.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to crash, though minor, when he lost control at corner four early in the session.
Tsunoda spun out over the track edges before spinning across the gravel trap, and was lucky to escape with just a slight brush of the wall.
The Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton also had a spin, at the final moments of the session, rotating twice through the fast downhill corner before the last turn on to the pit straight.
The seven-time champion ended the session in P19, trailing team-mate the Monegasque driver.
Norris and Piastri were far ahead of the remaining drivers, with Nico Hulkenberg's car in third, over half a second slower than Piastri's pace.
The Aston Martin of the Spanish driver was in fourth, with Sauber's Bortoleto in front of Mercedes' Russell and Alpine's Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
